School-age children and their parents are encouraged to lace up their sneakers and get out of their cars for the daily trek to school. Many schools are plagued by the line of cars dropping off or picking up students. Take the time to walk with your kids to school. It gives you a chance to do something healthy together, and helps both parents and students start the day off on the right foot.
The I Walk High School Commuter Challenge will take place between two local high schools to see who can get the largest percentage of their student body to carpool, take the bus, bike or walk to school April 4th. The winning high school gets $1,000 in $50 Visa check cards to use for a drawing for participating students.
